  School of Rock has been teaching kids how to amaze audiences for over 10 years. Our performance based curriculum gets students from the lesson room to the stage, developing both their confidence and musicianship with programs designed for all skill levels. ROCK 101 Rock 101 is our performance program for kids who are beginners/still learning the basics of their instrument and are new to SOR. This program includes 1 weekly private lesson (30 or 45 minute) and 1 weekly group rehearsal with all the other Rock 101 kids. This group rehearsal includes an hour and a half of rocking and focuses on learning the building blocks of performance, playing in a band, and using gear. The kids spend their group rehearsal time learning a set of songs (could be anything from Nirvana to Green Day to AC/DC) and preparing to be the opening act for one of season shows! PERFORMANCE PROGRAM Once a student graduates ROCK 101, they move on to our Performance Program! This program includes 1 weekly private lesson (45 minute) and a 3-hour weekly group rehearsal. They will rehearse for 13-16 weeks until they are razor-sharp, then perform a triumphant concert as the finale of the season. The shows are always at real rock venues like the The Soiled Dove Underground, 3 Kings, Toad's Tavern, Herman's Hideaway, and other great spots around the greater Denver area, and they are ALWAYS A BLAST!!! ROCK ROOKIES Rookies inspires first and second graders to pursue music by channeling their inner rock stars. The action-packed classes teach young rockers pitch, rhythm, and musical teamwork through a combination of fun, music-based games, and group rehearsal of simple rock songs. The students will experience the magic of playing all of the major rock instruments: Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keyboards, and Vocals while developing a core understanding of, confidence in, and love for music.
